 Agriculture remains to be the backbone of Kenya’s economy. It’s with no doubt that it employs close to 70 PC of the rural population, and 40 PC of Kenya’s total population according to KNBS. From the small and large scale farmers, the casual laborers in the farms, agronomists, the transporters of the farm commodities to market places and factories, the farm commodity vendors, to the employees in the processing factories, agriculture plays a huge role in the economic development of Kenya. Only one-third of the Kenyan population is in support of Constitutional amendments before the upcoming 2022 general elections. This is according to a recent survey by TIFA research firm in the period between June 24th and June 28th, 2021. According to the findings from the survey, 31 % of Kenyans would vote NO in the event of a plebiscite on the BBI amendments while 19 % would vote YES. 18% of Kenyans would not vote at all while 25% are still undecided. The survey further depicts that 7 % chose not to comment on the BBI referendum. Increased revenue allocation to the counties and the creation of the Ward Development Fund were the most cited reasons among those who were in support of the constitutional changes. In a surprising turn of events regarding Bill Cosby's ongoing attempts to be released from prison, the iconic comedian and actor is apparently actually getting out of prison in the very near future. Despite previous attempts to appeal Cosby's prison sentence failing to make legal waves, Pennsylvania's highest court made the ruling on June 30 to overturn the 83-year-old's sexual assault conviction. As it stands, Cosby will be released from prison after over two years of incarceration, and just a fourth of the way into his expected sentence. The Pennsylvania court ruling came after the discovery of an agreement made between Bill Cosby and a previous prosecutor that actually prevented the entertainer from being charged in this particular case, according to the Associated Press. Keroche Industries, based in Naivasha, has launched a new beer brand, aiming for the high-end market dominated by foreign booze. On Tuesday, the company launched its latest product, X beer, a sugar-free brand, at its factory in a brief ceremony attended by its top distributors and retailers.  Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Keroche's beer production and sales have decreased by 25%. Despite the challenges, the company is confident that it will recover thanks to the newly launched beer, which it claims will generate more revenue for the Kenya Revenue Authority each year.  The company has launched several beers in this year, beers like; Viena ice strong laga,  Keroche CEO Tabitha Karanja said at the launch event that the new beer is part of the brewer's intensive attempt to increase its market share to 20%.  She further explained that the value and richness of brand X are unrivaled in the current market.
